Who are MSA?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

MSA Safety<\/a> provide high\u2013performance protective clothing for emergency services.<\/strong> MSA enhances and strengthens it\u2019s offering to fire and rescue customers and provides comprehensive safety solutions to firefighters across the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The objective<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Due to supply and demand, MSA decided to move half of all UK production to Mexico.  The system side of the business was to remain in the UK, however, a relocation to their sister site in Yate was required. Due to the large space already acquired in Yate, both businesses could be consolidated to make one big unit.  When the relocation project first began, MSA did not anticipate just how much space they would require for the combined sites. This meant they had to acquire a new unit for Warehouse and
engineering. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why did MSA choose Rapid Racking?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Leigh, MSA Warehouse Manager, had used Rapid Racking for projects in his previous employment and whilst Leigh was familiar with how Rapid Racking worked, he also had trust that Rapid could help him achieve their new business goal.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leigh, reached out to our Design Specialist, Tom to assist with their new project and Tom attended site on numerous occasions to gain a full insight into their business requirements. Due to the heavy nature of the goods, Tom recommended Pallet Racking<\/a> as this is the best solution for Palletised goods. The customer also required storage for hand loaded items, so Pallet Racking with anti-spill mesh was provided to prevent products falling. When it came to selecting the colour of the racking, Leigh requested grey beams. Whilst this is not a standard stocked colour of beam that we offer, Tom was able to arrange a special order to ensure we met the customer\u2019s needs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project\u2019s success!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The benefit of having a Design Specialist on site to work with on their project was invaluable for MSA as they were able to share ideas and experiment with
numerous revisions of the storage design.  Via site visits and Teams calls,
together, they reached the final design.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the scale of the project, MSA required our installation service. Over the course of three weeks, the install took place and during this time, Tom went
back to site to ensure everything was running smoothly and was on track.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It did not stop there! Since the project\u2019s completion, MSA have returned to
Rapid Racking to purchase additional items such as, Rapid 1 shelving, Rapid 1 workbenches and picking bins! These products are to help complete the other units of their business.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Positive outcomes from the project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The project\u2019s success has allowed MSA to create a world class environment! Alleviating all previous stock control issues, MSA will now be able to improve stock management control and build a whole new team!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As their warehouse is to serve three entities, the project will enhance workflow and the improved layout of the warehouse will ensure optimal productivity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The project was a resounding success!  <\/strong>
Communication played a key part in this, and due to Tom\u2019s regular check\u2013ins, MSA felt valued and well informed throughout the process. This was also a perfect opportunity for MSA to address any concerns to prevent any delays.
